John was referred to our school by Darren Madden from Simple ICT Solutions. We were in need of someone who could start from scratch and set up Google For Education, handle all the backend configuration, provide staff training, and introduce the system to the students.
John was the perfect fit for the job. He not only helped us resolve domain and signup issues, but also coordinated with third-party support companies when necessary, ensuring a smooth process overall. The staff training he conducted struck the right balance, equipping teachers with the necessary skills without overwhelming them with technical jargon. He was always available to address any questions or concerns raised by the staff.
Furthermore, John worked closely with students in years 4, 5, and 6, introducing them to the new system and making the lessons engaging and enjoyable. The children eagerly anticipated John's visits, and he even assisted year 6 students in setting up and building websites for their enterprise project.
The replacement of our Windows laptops with Chromebooks has had a tremendous impact on the way children work. We now have an IT system that functions seamlessly and can be utilised across the entire curriculum. The success of the implementation has led us to purchase an additional 32 Chromebooks for Key Stage 1. We are now operating a truly modern learning platform.
I cannot emphasise enough how highly I recommend John Goodier. His expertise is outstanding, and he possesses the rare ability to excel in both technical aspects and interpersonal interactions with staff and students. He consistently demonstrated his willingness to assist and address any inquiries from both children and staff.

Dowson Primary Academy
John worked for Dowson for over 10 years, working in the first instance with our resident technician for IT support. In more recent years, in addition to becoming our sole provider of technical support, he set up the Google suite for Education platform to enhance the curricular offer for our children which became even more valuable as a method of education when the Covid 19 pandemic closed schools and required us to educate from afar.
As well as being able to provide the usual technical support of an IT provider, John is very knowledgeable in respect of education and the direction of the curriculum towards IT heavily supporting all areas and subjects supplementary to the coding curriculum. He is aware of the need for children to develop their digital literacy as well as having a wealth of understanding and materials for training and workshops in e-safety to help schools navigate the ever- growing challenge of keeping up with the pitfalls and dangers of the World Wide Web.
John can therefore offer a range of things within his service: technical support, curriculum development, including the whole set up of virtual learning platforms, and training on all of this for staff and leaders as well as sessions more tailored to children in many areas of learning and technical understanding.
I have no hesitation in recommending his work to your service.

John Goodier has been a valuable member of the Aldwyn Primary School community for 14 years. He began his career as an IT support engineer, where he was responsible for providing technical support to students, teachers, and staff. In his current role as computing lead, John is responsible for planning and teaching most of the computing curriculum. He was instrumental in introducing Google for Education to the school 11 years ago, which has transformed the way children access work.
John has also developed the use of many free cloud-based learning platforms, and he recently introduced the new Teach Computing curriculum. John is a highly skilled and experienced IT professional with a passion for education. He is dedicated to providing students with the best possible learning experience, and he is always looking for new ways to incorporate technology into the classroom. John is a valuable asset to the Aldwyn Primary School community, and he is sure to continue to make a positive impact on the lives of students for many years to come.
He is reasonable for creating THE LEARNING ZONE website which has proved to be a great showcase for children work and highlights own aims for computing at Aldwyn Primary School.

I just wanted to say how useful and engaging today's session was for our primary trainees. They have all left today understanding the curriculum in more depth and thanks to the signposting by John, they know where to get more training and how to access resources to use in their own teaching.
Thought you would like to hear this. I observed a trainee teach a computing lesson yesterday and it really was a fantastic lesson. Her coach said that he struggled to find improvements as it was so much better than anything he had taught on the topic previously. When I asked her about the lesson, she said all the ideas came from the day at Aldwyn and she had used the links etc to help her plan the whole topic.

We were introduced to John at Dowson Primary School in 2016 during one of his Google for Education showcases. We were impressed with his demonstration of how children could work collaboratively using the free cloud system. In 2017, we asked him to set up a Google system, provide some CPD to staff, and introduce this new way of working to children when he started working for Tithe Barn Primary School. He has been working with the school ever since and generally teaches computing skills to year 2, 5, and 6. I have retired now, and John has taken over some of my roles managing the school systems such as Spag etc. John is hardworking and conscientious, helping staff at home as well as being a computer lead. I highly recommend him.

Ashton Waterloo Tea & Tech Community Group
John worked with our community based at the Waterloo Park Centre for over year. This project was setup as part of "Ambition for Aging", with the aim of giving older people the digital skills they need to navigate the online world and the internet. John helped setup the internet connection and wireless that was badly needed in the community centre and worked with local residents the improve their digital skills. The scheme was closed just before the COVID outbreak. The video shows the aims of the "Ambition for Aging" project.
